Criminal Justice Programs at UCCS

Criminal Justice is a broad and increasingly interdisciplinary field. Criminal Justice programs at UCCS aim to capture the academic liberal arts emphasis and the professional and policy knowledge required to educate criminal justice professionals.

About the Criminal Justice Program

The Criminal Justice program at UCCS offers undergraduate and graduate degrees and certificates. The program curriculum is designed to accommodate students interested in pursuing professional careers in criminal justice and research or academic careers.

Undergraduate Degree Programs

Criminal Justice, BA

The Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice (BACJ) program utilizes an interdisciplinary approach to capture both the academic liberal arts emphasis and the professional and policy knowledge required to educate criminal justice professionals.  This program can be completed online, on campus, or a combination of both.

Specialization track options:


Criminal Justice, BA (Online)

The Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice (BACJ) online completion program is designed for those students who have already earned an associate's degree in Criminal Justice. Students transferring in with an associate's degree in Criminal Justice have the ability to complete the Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice completely online. Transfer students also have the option to complete the program on campus or mix online and on-campus courses.


Criminal Justice & Psychology, Dual BA

The Dual Bachelor in Criminal Justice and Psychology is designed to make it easier for students to complete these two majors from the College of Public Service and the College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences, respectively.


Criminal Justice & Sociology, Dual BA

The Dual Bachelor in Criminal Justice and Sociology is designed to make it easier for students to complete these two majors from the College of Public Service and the College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences, respectively. This dual program can be completed fully online, on campus, or a combination of both.


Criminal Justice, Accelerated Master's Program (AMP)

The Accelerated Master's Program (AMP) in Criminal Justice is designed to allow students to work concurrently toward the Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice (BACJ) and the Master of Criminal Justice (MCJ). The Accelerated Master's Program can be completed online, on campus, or a combination of both.


Criminal Justice, Minor


Students who obtain a minor in Criminal Justice will be able to understand the social and behavioral contributors to crime and understand the major components of the criminal justice system.


Graduate Degree Program

The Master of Criminal Justice program is designed for students interested in comprehensive professional graduate education in the field of criminal justice.


Criminal Justice & Public Administration, Dual Master's Program

The Dual Master of Public Administration & Master of Criminal Justice program equips graduate students with the knowledge and skills necessary to work in a number of public service or criminal justice settings.
