Biographical Information
Anna Nicol is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. She completed her Master of Social Work at Colorado State University in 2013 and BA in Social Work from Bethel University.
A Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly 20 years of experience, Anna's career spans roles in youth crisis work, county social services, job training programs, and substance use recovery, as well as international program development in Ecuador. Since 2017, she has practiced as a psychotherapist specializing in integrative, trauma-informed care, offering individual and group therapy for teens and adults with a focus on trauma, anxiety and depression, eating disorders, women’s issues, and somatic work. Trained in modalities including EMDR, brainspotting and DBT, she also provides clinical supervision and coaching to emerging counselors. She has served as a Social Work Lecturer in the BSW program at UCCS since 2024 and joined full-time in August 2026.
